Charlie Holt
Founder and Owner

The Rev. Charlie Holt founded Bible Study Media in 2014. Fr. Holt’s passion is to see the worldwide Church reconciled, reformed and renewed for vital Gospel mission to the lost. To that end, he has served as an ordained pastor and priest for over 20 years. He is the author of The Christian Life Trilogy, Draw Near, and Trusting God, and the Director of the Hearts Alive children’s curriculum project. He recently served as the Associate Rector of Teaching and Formation at the Church of St. John the Divine in Houston, TX. He is now priest on staff at the Diocese of Florida. He and his wife, Brooke, have three children.

Brooke Holt
Executive Director

Brooke has walked alongside her husband, Charlie Holt, in the formation of Bible Study Media. Like Charlie, she shares a passion for teaching God's Word and equipping believers to build the Kingdom. Brooke's other passion is healing prayer. Her heart's desire is to see people set free to be who God created and called them to be. Brooke has her bachelor's degree in English and did Biblical Studies at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Theological Seminary. For years, she has been teaching stewardship of the body, the importance of healthy eating, healthy living, and exercise. In 2020, Brooke wrote Walking in Light: True Life in 1 John. Brooke and Charlie have been married for 25 years and are blessed with 3 amazing children: Chase, Ashton, and Saxon.

Christine O'Brien
Director of Operations

Hearts Alive Curriculum Specialist

Christine is from central Massachusetts, where she resides with her husband, Jeff, and three beautiful children. Christine is the Director of Operations at Bible Study Media and also serves as the primary Hearts Alive Curriculum Specialist. She brings tremendous experience to the team as she offers a wealth of knowledge in Children’s and Small Group Ministry. She has a strong passion to humbly and authentically gather, equip, and lead other leaders. You can usually find her driving kids around to various sporting events, engaging with other ministry leaders, crafting, or curled up with a cup of tea and a good book. Christine has her bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.

Jenny Culpepper
Sales, Marketing, and Church Relations

Jenny Culpepper resides in the Charlotte, NC area with her husband of almost 25 years, David, and their two young adult children, Katie and Jennings. Her passion from young adulthood has been understanding God’s Word and trying to live it out and share it with others. From teaching Sunday School for children and adults to leading small groups to being discipled and discipling others, seeing others connect has remained her passion along with intercessory and healing prayer. She has served in many ministries – all rooted in sharing God’s Word. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, and has had careers in banking, technical sales and training, and new home sales and marketing.

Chris Nott
Brand Manager

Chris has worked for over 25 years with some of the leading brands in the country. His strategic thinking and design skills have helped make companies successful and brands famous. He has been fortunate to have won some of the most prestigious awards in the industry and worked with clients such as BMW, Capital One, Discovery Health Channel, Winn Dixie, Freddie Mac, Crystal Cruises, Sony, and Dell. He has also worked with some of the most prominent advertising agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi LA, Doe Anderson, and The Martin Agency.

Ginny Mooney
General Editor

Ginny Mooney is the General Editor of the Hearts Alive Curriculum project. Ginny is an Emmy award-winning television producer and writer, focusing on topics of faith and culture. She is a regular contributor to Breakpoint.org and speaks on Christian Apologetics. She authored The Cross Walk Children’s Curriculum, also published by Bible Study Media. Ginny lives in North Carolina, and loves to hike, bike, and kayak with her two favorite people–her two children, Azalea and Asher.

Pam Lagomarsino
Editor

Pam has been involved in Children’s Ministry for over twenty years and has taught numerous Christian ministries, Sunday school, VBS, girls’ retreats, or Bible studies for adults and children and has a heart for children to grow closer to God. She also homeschooled her children for several years. Pam has edited, proofread, or beta-read Christian nonfiction books, devotionals, sermons, Bible studies, homeschool curriculum, children’s books, and Christian fiction. Although Pam works on a variety of projects, her specialties are Christian nonfiction, homeschool curriculum, and children’s materials. She has asked God to use her behind the scenes to bring people closer to Him. She considers it a privilege to be a part of Hearts Alive to touch the hearts of their readers. Pam is a Silver Member of the Christian Proofreaders and Editors Network.

Rich Lambert
Author of Prepare the Way and Face the Dawn

Rich Lambert is a high school English teacher in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Wheaton College and Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando). He was a campus minister in South Carolina for 5 years, and a church planter and pastor for another 12 years before leaving vocational ministry in 2014. Rich has been married to Jennifer for 23 years. Rich and Jennifer have two daughters, one in college and the other finishing up high school. Rich loves new challenges and adventures, such as exploring the Amazon rainforest and hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Wendy Berghane
Author of The King Is Coming

Wendy is passionate about sharing the Gospel with children and families. She is a former school director, kindergarten teacher, and children’s ministry leader who believes in the importance of breaking down the Bible and foundations of the Christian faith to make them accessible for the youngest hearts. She also has a heart for encouraging and supporting young families in their walk with God, equipping them with the tools of faith to find peace and joy in the journey of parenthood. Wendy has a degree from the University of Central Florida in Early Childhood Education and Non-Profit Management. She resides in central Florida with her husband of 24 years and is the proud mom of two amazing young adults.

Dalas Davis
Director / Producer

Dalas L. Davis is a Director/Actor/Producer and creative/story consultant, bringing in-depth experience and expertise in motion picture production. Dalas is the founder and President of Fishers of Men Entertainment Global, the production company that produced the feature film, "A Measure of Faith." Dalas created the story, directed, produced, and was lead actor on the picture. He is working with Bible Study Media on the Undivided film project.

Sarah Viggiano Wright
Author of A Living Hope

Sarah Viggiano Wright is a teacher, speaker, and writer who loves sharing God’s Word. She helps equip churches in their educational ministries. She contributed to Co-Laborers, Co-Heirs: A Family Conversation and Beneath the Cross of Jesus: Lenten Reflections, and served as an instructor for the Teaching Women to Teach the Bible initiative through Reformed Theological Seminary. Sarah holds an M.Div and a MAC from Covenant Theological Seminary and serves Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) alongside her husband, Lee. The couple loves good food, traveling, and being with loved ones, especially their three children.

Sara Buffington

Sara Buffington is a Sunday School writer for the Hearts Alive project. She has been a professional writer since 2003, specializing in educational curricula. She has co-authored three books: The Ordinary Parent’s Guide to Teaching Reading (Well-Trained Mind Press, 2004) and First Language Lessons for the Well-Trained Mind, Levels 3 and 4 (Well-Trained Mind Press, 2007 & 2008). She has also worked as a contributor on several series, including all four activity books for The Story of the World series by Susan Wise Bauer (Well-Trained Mind Press, 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2008), the activity books for Years 1 and 2 of Telling God’s Story by Peter Enns (Olive Branch Books, 2011 & 2013), and First Language Lessons Levels 1 and 2 by Jessie Wise (Well-Trained Mind Press, 2001 & 2003).

Rev. Christopher Caudle

Fr. Christopher Caudle is a Sunday School writer and Bible Background consultant on the Hearts Alive project. Fr. Christopher is the Associate Rector at the Church of the New Covenant in Winter Springs, FL. He is in charge of Christian Education. He holds a BA in History from the University of North Carolina, and a MA in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theology Seminary. He was ordained as a deacon in 2006, and as a priest in 2009.

Lindsey Goetz

Lindsey is a children's minister and is passionate about developing Bible literacy in children and providing spaces where children can connect with the Lord and come to know him deeply, while encouraging and equipping parents to disciple their children.

She loves writing as a means of connecting the truth of the gospel with the beauty of everyday life. She's also the mom to three incredible little girls (with a fourth on the way), an avid reader of books, and an avoider of laundry piles.

Julia Phillips
Writer

Julia Phillips is a Children’s Church writer for the Hearts Alive project. Julia and her family were recently called to move from their beloved mountain home to Florida, where her husband, Tom, now runs the Emmaus School of Biblical Studies. She grew up with a love for writing and fostered it by earning an English degree from the University of Virginia. She went on to work as a Literacy Specialist at a children’s museum, where she developed and implemented an emergent literacy curriculum for young children in a county suffering from a high rate of illiteracy. Julia currently teaches at Twin Rivers Montessori Academy after years of homeschooling her own two young children. She is excited about the opportunity to help create a gospel-centered curriculum that combines her heart for children with her dedication to biblical literacy.

David Sanford

David Sanford’s speaking engagements have ranged everywhere from The Billy Graham Center at the Cove to the University of California Berkeley. Marci Strickland

Marci Strickland is a Sunday School writer for the Hearts Alive project. Marci attended East Carolina University in North Carolina where she studied Early Childhood Development and Family Life. She worked in the field for 12 years, teaching young children in the classroom, and served as her school’s Curriculum Resource Teacher for two years supporting and training teachers. She has spoken at teacher conferences about incorporating diverse learning practices in every classroom and successfully balancing core standards while teaching to individual learning styles. Marci was a recipient of Bible stories, memory verses, and Sunday School hugs throughout her entire childhood. This is why she has served in Sunday School as a teacher or administrator since college. She has been blessed as a homeschooling mother of her three beautiful children for the past four years and is celebrating 18 years of marriage.

Jill Turner

Jill Turner earned her degree in Communications/Journalism from Cal State Fullerton and has been working as a professional writer and curriculum designer since 2002. She is the designer and writer of a leveled online Bible curriculum for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade covering the entire text of the Bible, as well as a Systematic Theology and Christology for the online curriculum Dew Learning (now owned by Lifeway Christian Resources). She writes and edits books and curriculum with Dr. Kenneth Boa of Reflections Ministries, including their most recent Heart, Head and Hands Discipleship Curriculum Series, and she ideated and wrote for the Orange curriculum (the reThink Group) for many years. Jill is also a mom to three teenagers, an artist, and a lover of all languages who aspires to one day be a missionary.

Michelle Van Loon

Since coming to faith in Christ at the tail end of the Jesus Movement, Michelle's Jewish heritage, spiritual hunger, and storyteller's sensibilities have shaped her faith journey and informed her writing. She is the author of five books, including If Only: Letting Go of Regret, Moments & Days: How Our Holy Celebrations Shape Our Faith and most recently Born to Wander: Recovering the Value of Our Pilgrim Identity. Michelle is a regular contributor to Christianity Today's women's blog, In Touch magazine, and is the co-founder of www.ThePerennialGen.com, a website for midlife women and men.
