The Bible helps us get to know God and understand who he is and what he is like. Psalm 25:1-10 gives us lots of words that describe God. Words like loving, trustworthy, and faithful. Those are such good words! This helps us know that God is good, and we can trust him to keep his promises! These verses also tell us that God is a teacher and that he is a God of salvation. That means that he wants us to learn and grow and that he wants to save us from sin (all the bad stuff in the world). What an amazing God!
We are going to learn more about God and how much he loves us over the next few weeks and how he has a very special gift for us—a gift that no one was expecting but one that everyone needs. The gift of Jesus!
Let’s Pray: Dear God, thank you for being a teacher, and thank you for the gift of the Bible so we can learn more about you and Jesus. Please help me get to know you better. Please draw me near to you every day. Amen.
