Written with a child’s heart in mind, "The King is Coming", an Advent devotional for children and families uses language and imagery to engage hearts and minds from the very young to the young at heart. Like any good children's book, it is absolutely a devotional the entire family can use and enjoy!
Over the four weeks of Advent, "The King Is Coming" will dive into the salvation story by focusing on who God is, the gift of Jesus, and the importance of sharing and celebrating that miraculous gift. Each week has a theme and a daily short devotional. Throughout the week you and your family can do one or more of the thematic activities found at the end of each week's devotionals. Do as many or as few of the activities as you wish. We made it flexible and adaptable for any family. The activities serve to enhance the learning and growth by offering fun, meaningful, hands-on activities to help reach young hearts.
It can be helpful to set apart a time each day to read the devotional together. Perhaps you can incorporate the devotional into your bedtime routine or make it a part of your breakfast or dinner time together. Maybe it needs to change daily. Whatever plan works for you and your family, we encourage you to read it together each day to fully experience the Scriptures and themes.
